The Evolution of Musical Theater
Join the BVC for their spring concert for a celebration of musical theater – from its “origins” in the lighter works of Classic Opera and amusing librettos of Comic Operetta – to the showtunes and Broadway Classics we treasure today.
Composers featured range from Verdi, Strauss, and Gilbert & Sullivan to Stephen Schwartz and Andrew Lloyd Webber. With selections that include songs from La Traviata, The Gondoliers, Man of La Mancha, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked and Les Miserablés.
The Chorale is honored to welcome soprano Mary Ellen Schauber, as she shares her vocal stylings. It’s certainly going to be the “survival of the fittest.”
