Gathering to sing in harmony with talented musicians and an excellent director close to home.
1. I love choral music
2. Jason Throne
I love singing with a great group of people!
Director/the music he chooses
I fondly remember attending concerts and watching my mom sing when I was younger. Mr. Throne was also my choir director in high school, which makes the BVC experience all the more exciting.
I’ve been singing with BVC for most of its existence. It’s a joy to be able to use your voice as an instrument, blend it with other vocal talent, and create an impressive piece of artwork! Jason is a fabulous leader and teacher. We are always learning and growing together in harmony and unity! I have made many special memories with BVC and I look forward to many more!
I love sharing music with others who love music as well! It’s a wonderful community to share Tuesday evenings with.
I love singing with people! I’ve been a singer since I was twelve years old, and it has always made me happy. Singing with the BVC is a wonderful experience.
I enjoy getting together with others to create beautiful music!
Love singing with people who are serious about making beautiful music.
It’s a place where I can express myself and grow a passion I gained back in college (my regret’s not beginning my singing journey a lot earlier). I discovered that I love singing low, so it’s great to have an opportunity to sing Tenor in this ensemble. When life gives you trouble, singing’s a way to escape reality and feel at ease. Specifically with me, when violin started becoming a slight physical/mental burden a few years ago I wanted to continue music in some sort of fashion. Additionally, singing in various ensembles/settings has led me to grow my other interest in composing, which started back in high school. I’m someone that loves trying new things and being creative – almost doesn’t matter what the activity is.
Making music with people of all ages who just love to sing!
Interesting, varied repertoire, great musicians, great leadership!
I enjoy the camaraderie of the choir and the beautiful and challenging music.
To me, choral singing feeds body, mind, and spirit. It’s truly a privilege to practice and perform with such a gifted director and so many talented singers; having the opportunity to help create something beautiful with people you care about is a real gift!
The people are great, and the music is an interesting mix of old and new.
The BVC is an amazing group of passionate singers and musicians. Everyone is there to willingly give their time for the joy of singing and to bring that joy to the surrounding community. It is a wonderful example of the power of music in bringing people together.
I love BVC because of the energy and kindness of the people. And I also love the outlet for singing that it gives me
I love singing and making music with others.
I love singing and making music with others.
I have sung in my cars and in my houses, in school choruses and in church choirs, since I was a little girl. During the past few years I have been a cantor in my church, but I missed the dynamic of group singing. I joined the BVC in 2023 after hearing the beautiful concerts “Remembrance and Hope” and “The Armed Man.” I am very excited to sing with this talented group of musicians, and also to perform with my three children, who are in BVC and UHS Chorale!
Music has been important to me my whole life, and I love being a part of a community that helps push me to grow as a singer.
Love to sing among talented singers and musicians.
It is a friendly group that loves to sing.
The music is always challenging and captivating. Fellow singers are of a wide age range, and are friendly. Jason is demanding, which results in quality performances, and he has a good sense of humor
Great people, great music. Music is a great way to put away the stresses of the day.
I love the BVC for it’s daring, challenging music, and my fellow awesome singers!
When I joined the BVC seventeen years ago, I had no idea of the incredible adventure BVC would become in my life!! Jason throne, our director is a true energetic visionary with amazing staff! BVC is a welcoming group of great singers and friends. You might call us a family that sings every Tuesday night! What a joy!
I love the great classics we sing. Also to keep my voice in condition
I love the BVC because it offered me a place where I could continue what I love: singing! I am also able to meet a lovely new group of friends!
Singing with the BVC is a weekly reminder of what an important role music plays in my life. The BVC has also given me the opportunity to sing on stage with my children!
I love the opportunity to sing a variety of really good choral music. We sing all kinds of classical choral music, and for me it is really fun and enjoyable to sing with many friends. I enjoy working with Jason, Linda, and all my friends at BVC. It is an honor to the be the Tenor Section Leader of this fine group.
I’ve only been a member for two or three weeks, but I admire and enjoy the conducting skills of Jason Throne; I like the friendly co-singers; and the present compositions are incredible, unlike any I have experienced before.
The repertoire. The director.
Who wouldn’t? I’ve been singing in choirs for over 60 years. Can’t beat the joy of singing with a group.
I love singing with BVC because the music we sing fills my heart, soul, and mind.
I love to sing and I enjoy creating new friendships. It is a wonderful feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment to learn the music and then perform it.
Performing great choral music
I enjoy the broad range of music in our performances and the interactions with our diverse chorale members.
I love to sing. I even was a music major in college with voice being my “instrument”. With the Brandywine Valley Chorale I found a place I can sing with some other people from all around the area who love to sing and are a great group of people.
I enjoy making music with people in my community who come from many different walks of life. Being in a choir allows me to make connections with people which I normally would not be able to do.
I love learning and performing choral music that is new to me; music that is beautiful and challenging. Conductor Jason Throne leads the group into just this kind of exploration. And BVC members take his lead, enjoying music making and encouraging one another in the process.
The music and the company.
I love the BVC for the challenge of the music and the teamwork that is required to accomplish a successful performance. Everyone involved is so talented! BVC is truly a musical community bringing together such a diverse group of musicians.
I love learning new music and being part of a team!
BVC stretches me and I just love the amazing music we get to perform.
Singing in the BVC has honestly been one of the highlights of my life. We sing beautiful and challenging music; often premiering a new work or a work seldom, if ever, performed in our area. BVC singers are committed to providing quality performances. Our director is a consumate professional and is AMAZING. After decades of singing, I’m still learning from him. Above all this, I consider all these individuals my friends and it is sheer joy being in their company.
I really enjoy the experience of singing with a fun group of people who are so dedicated to choral musicianship.
The joy of music and all the opportunities to learn, grow and improve!
I love being part of the magic that happens when a group of passionate musicians get together to do what they love.
The BVC is a wonderful choir filled with lovely people who just want to perform great music. The group has provided some truly amazing musical opportunities for singers and audience members.
I love singing with these wonderful singers and the chance to experience the broad repertoire that Jason offers.
I am a new member of the BVC. I am thrilled to be a part of this beautiful ensemble. And I look forward to getting to know everyone and making great music!
